WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS WORKSHOP?

THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS HEALING…

Decolonization & Prioritization Foundations is an all-inclusive workshop that will introduce foundational principles, theories, and strategies to decolonize collaborative art-making practices and prioritize the needs of marginalized artists and vulnerable communities.

This workshop guides participants to return to their body’s natural state allowing creativity, authenticity, engagement and ultimately healing to surface in the art-making process.

ARTISTS HEAL™ workshops provide support, community, and practical tools to incorporate into your artistic and healing practice.  ARTISTS HEAL™ facilitates a space that allows artists to access Self-liberation, vulnerability, and empowerment as we continue to work towards a shift in industry standards and practices.

IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR ME?

A few questions to consider…

☀︎ Am I a collaborative art-maker interested in creating spaces that effectively support marginalized artists and vulnerable communities?

☀︎ Do I create art through theatre and/or collaborative art-making? For myself? For others?

☀︎ Am I on a journey to decolonize and dismantle the systems and structures of White Supremacy in my own practice and process?

☀︎ Have I ever witnessed or experienced harm in collaborative art-making spaces due to White Supremacy and wish I had the tools to intervene effectively?

☀︎ Would I like to find community and fellowship with other Artists seeking to implement changes in industry standards?

This workshop will challenge collaborators to de-center Whiteness and prioritize marginalized artists when art-making, explore decolonized pathways to creating and begin to develop a practice that supports and prioritizes vulnerable communities over product.

WHAT WILL I GET FROM THIS WORKSHOP?

Thinking about coming? Here’s what you’ll get!
